Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar (conceived 28 September 1929) is an Indian vocalist, and incidental music-author. She is one of the best-known and most regarded playback vocalists in India. Mangeshkar's vocation began in 1942 and has traversed more than seven decades. She has recorded tunes for more than a thousand Hindi movies and has sung melodies in more than thirty-six provincial Indian dialects and remote dialects, however principally in Marathi and Hindi. She is the senior sister of vocalists Asha Bhosle, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Mangeshkar. She is the second vocalist, after M. S. Subbulakshmi, to have ever been recompensed the Bharat Ratna, India's most noteworthy non military personnel honor.
