Shah Hussain was a profound Sufi individual, his shrine now is located in Lahore. In this piece of his poetry he defined his relation with his beloved, the unconcerned nature of love and how the world perceives this spiritual relationship. It is beautifully sung in the genre of Qawwali by the renowned artist of his times Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
In this first verse Shah Hussain claims that his heart is stuck with the unconcerned, in this verse the word "beparwah" is used to define the nature of beloved. The beloved is indulged in the mysteries of love like so that he has become unconcerned about the world and the worldly life, for what he has earned vanished all of his chaos and desires of life thus, making him unconcerned or beparwah. It also signifies on a very important fact that which is universally accepted by many spiritually enlightened Sufis like Jalaal ud din Rumi, it specifies that the nature love is so vast and major that whoever tends fall in it be lost there forever. It shows that LOVE is an infinite stream, a never ending phenomenon like the Universe or God itself. Shah Hussain announces that he's stuck with the beloved who's lost in love himself; "Man atkeya beparwah de naal". On the very next verse of the same shair he defines the capabilities of love and his beloved by saying; "Us deen duni de shah de naal", Shah Hussain indirectly claims that the one who's in love becomes the Shah or Master of the world here and also of the world hereafter. It shows that one when loses his existence in the endless river of love he becomes nothing and from the nothingness he becomes the everything, of the world here and even of the world that comes after. Another Sufi ideology reclaimed by Shah Hussain.
"Qaazi Mulla matti deindaym Kharrey sayaanein raha bataindey,
Ishq ki lagge rah de naal",
The wise and the Mullas offer him guidance, they show him the "path",
But love has no path, Shah Hussain says. How beautiful.
